🕯️ ROOM XIII — Development Update (End of July)


We're back with another major progress update for our psychological horror game ROOM XIII. The project continues to evolve with technical improvements, new eerie interactions, and essential adjustments to ensure a fully immersive experience.

Here’s a look at what’s been completed, what’s in progress, and what’s coming soon:

✅ Recently Completed:

  • 🗣️ Dialogue and Subtitle System finalized

  • 💀 CandleMan fixed — now properly reacts to the player

  • 🧭 NavMesh updated to prevent NPCs from disappearing in the Candle Room

  • 🧟‍♂️ Zombie now returns to the coffin after the puzzle, even after the player dies

  • 👻 Ghost and Demon reset fixed in Room 1

  • 🔑 LOD fix applied to the key

  • 📜 Final Room Notes added with new world-scale UI system

  • 🕹️ New player animations implemented

  • 🔊 New sounds and scripted events added

  • 🐞 General bug fixes for stability and polish

🔧 Currently In Progress:

  • 🧠 LOD system being optimized for better performance

  • 🧠 Head Room in development

  • 🙏 Thank You Room (Demo) is under construction

👀 What’s Coming Next?

We’re actively working on new rooms, mechanics, random events, and overall performance improvements. Stay tuned for upcoming updates:

  • 📷 Create camera shake script for tense moments

  • 🧠 Add IK to zombie head in the painting room

  • 🖼️ Add normal paintings and missing props

  • 🔐 Fix repeating locked door sound

  • 🔁 Test new get-up animation after death

  • 📜 Build complete Pause/Menu system

  • ⏳ Implement loading system

  • 🧪 Entering polishing and testing phase

  • 🗣️ Replace the priest’s voice for the final version

🎮 The demo is not available yet, but we’re getting closer with every update.
