🕯️ Devlog – ROOM XIII – A Week of Progress!


This week was super productive in the development of ROOM XIII, and I’d like to share the key updates and advancements that happened in the project:

🔥 New Features Implemented:

Candle Room We’ve officially added the Candle Room to the game! (No spoilers, but brace yourself for the unexpected...)

Script Updates Several scripts were reviewed and optimized:

  • Fixed the SaveGame system, which now correctly loads the player in their current room.
  • Refined mouse movement and Player controller.
  • Completed event and interaction scripts for the Candle Room successfully!

Performance Improvements Most GameObjects now use LOD (Level of Detail), ensuring smoother gameplay even on lower-end machines.

Visuals & Atmosphere

  • Finalized the map with 4K textures, enhancing the dark environments.
  • Added 20+ new sounds, improving immersion and tension.
  • New creatures added (no spoilers!).
  • Updated candle textures for a more realistic and unsettling vibe.
  • Improved room event system, now respecting player progress.

🧪 In Testing & Planning:

  • Dynamic dialogue & subtitles in Portuguese, Spanish, and English will be the next big step.
  • Started structuring the next rooms:
    • Picture Room
    • Mannequin Room
    • Hanged Man Room
    • Coffin Room
    • Loop Room
  • Further refinements to interaction scripts.

📌 What’s Next?

We’re pushing forward with more disturbing rooms, making the game increasingly immersive and psychological. The goal is to confuse the player’s perception and evoke pure fear—and it’s finally taking shape!
